Tony counsels clients on litigation and international arbitration matters in the areas of shipping, international trade and commodities, logistics and other commercial disputes. He routinely advises ship owners, commodities traders, logistics companies, and technology and construction companies.
Prior to joining Forte Law LLC, Tony worked in a big four Singapore firm and a US international firm based in Singapore. Over the years, Tony has handled international trade and commodity disputes, shipping and admiralty marine insurance, logistics, offshore oil and gas, and other general maritime related work. He has also represented clients on various matters before the High Court and the Court of Appeal of Singapore. Apart from the above, Tony has also acted in SIAC, SCMA, HKIAC, UNCITRAL, GAFTA and ad hoc arbitrations. He was also previously part of a team that was granted a fiat by the Brunei Attorney-General to appear before the Brunei Supreme Court in a corruption and cheating matter. Tony graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB, Hons) from the University of Melbourne in 2007. He served as a naval officer in the Singapore Navy and as a legal counsel / military prosecutor in the Singapore Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) from 2007 to 2011, including as a JAG / Legal Advisor in counter-piracy operations off the coast of Somalia in the Gulf of Aden. He was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2012, and is fluent in both English and Mandarin. |
